About
Designed a comprehensive financial planning tool for investment companies. The goal was to bring client management, goal planning, and investment tracking into one unified system.
The Problem
Investment companies often manage clients using scattered tools like spreadsheets, phone calls, PDFs, and emails. This created:
No single view of a client’s goals
Manual effort in updating investment plans
Difficulty tracking multiple family members under one profile
Poor client visibility into their own progress
What I did
Designed the dual‑portal system structure
Mapped advisor workflows for goal creation, investment allocation, and reporting
Designed client‑side dashboards and trackers
Improved visibility across family member portfolios
Conducted usability reviews and refined flows for clarity

Key Insight
Financial planning isn’t linear.
Each client has:
Multiple goals
Different timelines
Varying risk levels
Multiple family members influencing the plan
This required a system that could adapt to complex personal financial structures.

Solution
A unified financial planning platform
Advisor Workspace: manage goals, create investment plans, connect products to goals, and track client progress.
Family‑Level Management: add multiple members with individual goals and risk profiles.
Client Dashboard: simple, transparent view of investments, performance, and progress.
Automated Tracking: goal progress, upcoming milestones, and required actions.
This reduced manual advisor effort and improved how clients understood their financial health.

Reflection & Next Steps
Focus on long‑term scalability
More dynamic reporting tools
Custom widgets for advisors
Alerts for market‑linked changes
Enhanced visualizations for clients
The platform continues to evolve as investment companies adopt more digital‑first workflows.
